John Singleton To Direct Taylor Lautner's 'Abduction'

I previously reported on Taylor Lautner's upcoming movie, Abduction, and the search for a director. Now, Deadline.com reports that John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood and Four Brothers) has filled that role with production of the thriller beginning this July in Pittsburgh.

Lautner stars as a teenager [in Abduction] who learns that the parents he's known for his entire life aren't his real parents after all, leading to a series of deadly events that the protagonist must navigate as he runs for his life.
Two other projects that Taylor will be working on include Cancun ("a spring-break martial-arts thriller that draws inspiration from Liam Neeson's "Taken" and Bruce Willis' "Die Hard" series") and Stretch Armstrong ("a superhero film based on the popular Hasbro action figure").
