Nikki Reed's 'Privileged'

With elements of “Romeo and Juliet” and “The Great Gatsby”, “Privileged” is a modern psychological high school drama set in a community where social status is a birthright and newcomers are kept at a distance. The fictitious town of Garden Oaks is a bastion of old values and anglo traditions. Enter Isaac (Adam Butcher), a beacon of change who desperately wants to be accepted by his peers. When he learns that his parents’ tragic death leaves him with millions he never knew he had, Isaac sets out on a journey to win the acceptance of his classmates and the love of the beautiful Lauren, (Nikki Reed). Under this private school veneer lays the turbulent power-struggle over love, status and abuse. Will Isaac finally join the social elite or will he meet a tragic end that will one day blow over and leave Garden Oaks looking like the modern haven… that it isn’t. Shot by award winning DP, Rey Villalobos (A Bronx Tale, Border Town, Risky Business), “Privileged” will set a standard in low budget, high end filmmaking. Currently in Post-Production.

MTV: Trailer For Nikki Reed's 'Last Day of Summer'

Before "The Twilight Saga," Nikki Reed was a well-respected indie actress, having come to fame after writing and starring in the semi-autobiographical movie "Thirteen," about a young girl who gets caught up in a fast life she's not quite ready for. Just because Nikki's been in some of the biggest movies of the past few years doesn't mean she's given up that indie streak.

Hollywood Crush has gotten its hands on the exclusive trailer for Nikki's latest indie venture, called "Last Day of Summer." It follows a menial fast food worker named Joe (the appropriately gawky DJ Qualls ... remember him from "Road Trip"?), who meets Nikki's Stefanie, a feisty young woman who catches Joe on a bad day — a very bad day.

After being tormented by his d-bag boss, played by William Sadler (aka the sheriff from "Roswell!"), Joe cracks and kidnaps Stefanie at gunpoint after she rebuffs his advances. Stefanie becomes more and more desperate as she tries to escape her inept kidnapper.

It looks like a great vehicle for Nikki to show off her acting chops, since obviously her Rosalie hasn't been a central character in the "Twilight" movies as of yet. And it's always nice to see DJ Qualls playing a grown-up instead of a gawky teenager.

Nikki Reed's Latest Role in "Catch .44"

Nikki Reed is leaving her blood-sucking days behind her (for now) for some assassins.

The 22-year-old actress has booked a role in the upcoming Catch .44, along side Bruce Willis and Forest Whitaker, according to Deadline.

The flick, which starts production in just a few days in Louisiana, follows Tes (Malin Ackerman), Dawn (Lizzy Caplan) and Kara (Kate Mara) — three girls working dead end jobs barely getting by in Vegas when their lives radically change when Tes has a run-in with an interesting stranger named Mel (Willis).

When Mel offers the girls a chance at a better life through crime, they take him up on the offer only to find themselves thrust into a life or death situation involving a psychopathic hit-man, a grizzly trucker, and a delusional line cook.

Nikki Reed Teams Up With DoSomething.org

Nikki Reed is encouraging teens this summer to do something with their time. She is teaming up with DoSomething.org and Staples for the 3rd Annual National Staples/Do Something 101 School Supply Drive.

Here is info shared with me in an email regarding Nikki's participation.

Nikki, star of this summer’s upcoming blockbuster film The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is encouraging teens to make a difference this summer by collecting school supplies and dropping them off at their local Staples store from July 4 through September 18. In addition, Staples customers will be able to get involved by donating $1 at any Staples store, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local students in need. Each Staples store will be matched to a local non-profit organization serving local youth, and DoSomething.org and Staples will ensure that all the donations get to these partners just in time for the new school year.

During the first two Do Something 101 school supply drives, Staples and DoSomething.org, with the help from celebrity supporters Jordin Sparks and Ciara, raised more than $750,000. To build on this success and help kick off the 2010 campaign, Nikki is starring in a public service announcement (PSA) that will air on television and radio stations nationwide, starting in July. Staples will also donate more than $125,000 worth of school supplies to the program.

If you'd like to get involved today visit dosomething.org for more information.

Nikki Reed Covers 'Saturday Night' Magazine

Highlights from Nikki Reed's interview with "Saturday Night":
SNMag: What do you think about the Rob Pattinson craze?
NR: I get it. Rob is a totally fascinating, amazing, wonderful guy. I get why all these girls are so in love with him. He’s super intelligent, mysterious, musical and intellectual. I get it.

SNMag: Do you get along well with all the other cast? Is there anyone you especially get along with?
NR: It depends on where we’re at in our lives. We all get along really well but on this last movie, it just so happened that Elizabeth [Reaser] and I were living literally two steps away from each other. When you came out of my door and took a hard left you were in her room. When I quit smoking that changed who I hung out with in our cast because I got really active and into working out and Elizabeth and Kellan [Lutz] are really active. There was a time when I wanted to sit and smoke cigarettes and play guitar and sing.

SNMag: You broke into acting in a pretty unconventional way. How did you decide to write the screenplay for Thirteen at such a young age?
NR: It was a very unconventional situation. There was no plan. I wasn’t a crazy teenager that was like, “I want to be a screenwriter.” I just do a lot of writing for myself, and I was a precocious child and liked to express my feelings all the time. I was writing about my family and my life and what was going on. Catherine Hardwicke, who dated my father when I was a kid, said, “What if we write this movie?” And we got it made.

SNMag: Do you write screen-plays now?
NR: I’ve continued to write. It’s just one of those things where there’s no formula for making a successful franchise. There’s also no formula for making a different type of phenomenon like Thirteen because the timing was right and the stars were aligned. At one time or another that movie was shocking and eye opening but now with reality TV shows it’s different. I have
written a number of screenplays and I continue to explore that avenue. With everything that’s been going on, I haven’t been as focused as I’d like to in my late teenage years and early 20s.

Spring and Summer Movies Featuring Your 'Twilight' Saga Stars

“A Nightmare on Elm Street” – Kellan Lutz – Release date: April 30, 2010. Some fans have scoffed at Kellan’s upcoming appearance in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” saying the remake is a large step down from “Twilight”. While it’s true that the sixth film in any franchise is rarely the best, Kellan will be joining the ranks of distinguished Freddie Krueger alumni including Johnny Depp, Laurence Fishburne, and Patricia Arquette.

“The Last Airbender” – Jackson Rathbone – Release date: July 2, 2010. So this one technically doesn’t come out until after “Eclipse” but now’s the time to start getting stoked. This much-anticipated animated-TV-show-turned-action flick features Jackson as Sokka, a teenage water tribe warrior. The film is about the vanishing of the peacemaker who keeps the lords of the four elements in harmony, and his successor who must step in to restore balance.

“Chain Letter” – Nikki Reed – Release date: August, 2010. The tagline for the movie gets right to the point: “if you don’t forward it, you die”. Nikki Reed will lead the cast in what appears to be a classically designed horror flick: sinister force + helpless teenagers = characters dropping like flies.
